questions in our library, asked only where they are needed
01One question at a time.
Your team answers in plain language. The next question depends on the answer.
02Show us what you already have.
Each answer is backed by a document you already use, such as a plan, a slide or a report. Nothing new needs to be written, and we never ask for logins or access to your systems.
03Every practice is scored.
We score each practice on what the documents show, mark where the outside read was confirmed, changed or overturned, and name the first area to fix.
Sample questions, Market Reality
A fictional answer at each step.
- 1
What types of companies are you trying to win as customers?
Mid-sized logistics firms, mostly 3PLs.
Supporting document: your current target-market or ideal-customer document.
The document lists 3PLs, but the sales team's account list also includes manufacturers, so we ask:
- 2
Which version should everyone on the team be using?
Marketing's version, but sales still works from last year's list.
Supporting document: the current version, with its date and owner.
Two versions are in use, so we check what happens in practice:
- 3
Would two people choose the same companies using your current guidance?
Probably not. Marketing's list and sales' list share about half of the same companies.
Supporting document: two recent target lists, one from each team.
What the three questions show
- Finding
- The target market is written down, but the team does not work from one version. About half the companies on each list are missing from the other.
- What goes in the Verified Plan
- Agree one target-market definition with a named owner, rebuild both lists from it, and check that two people now pick the same companies. Each step has an owner and a date.
- Why it comes first
- Every campaign, call and forecast after this depends on knowing which companies to pursue.
Three questions, documents you already had, and the first fix is clear.
If nothing is written down, we ask instead: how do people choose companies today? Follow-up questions depend on your answer and what the documents show. Most of the library is never asked.
